PROGRAMME & COMMUNITY GROUP REGISTRATION
The Miners Memorial Service is held to honour the men and women who have lost their lives servicing the mining industry over the past century.
The service is attended by family members, mine management and mines rescue personnel.
“We are committed to delivering the Miners Memorial, just as we have every year. It will be different. We want to make it an entirely inclusive event, especially for the families and loved ones of those who’ve lost their lives in the mining industry” Chairperson Terry Fleeton said.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and lay floral tributes if they wish.
A symbolic miner’s lamp will be lit to signify the beginning of the Festival.
The St Barbara’s Miners Memorial will adhere with government health recommendations, in place, at the current time. The Miners Memorial will be held on Thursday 3rd December.

St Barbara's Parade 2020
Undoubtedly the showcase of the St Barbara’s Festival, the Parade is a fun-filled extravaganza for the whole family!
Thousands of people gather for the Parade to watch enormous pieces of mining equipment rumble down historical Hannan Street including an enormous KCGM Cat 793 Haul Truck standing 6 metres tall, 8 metres wide and 13 metres long!
Along with mining equipment, you can expect to see community organisations, schools, animals, prospectors and mines rescue demonstrations - you might even catch a glimpse of a Christmas elf!
The St Barbara’s Festival Committee would like to advise the Goldfields community that we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s St Barbara’s Parade.
“With crowds over 10,000, it would be difficult to create the St Barbara’s Parade atmosphere that the community has come to know and expect, under current health advice and restrictions. Safety is the Committee’s number one priority for our community, which is the cornerstone of the entire St Barbara’s Festival” Chairperson Terry Fleeton said.
The St Barbara’s Festival Committee will work towards the 2021 Festival, something to rival the 2019 20th anniversary celebrations.
